We'll be checking the leaderboards several times a day and deleting hacked scores as we come across them, so you don’t need to report each one. We have added analytics that trigger when players achieve exceptionally high scores as of today (30/7 NZT) to track how often this is happening. Obviously this is not ideal and we are aware these high scores are frustrating to players who don’t use these strategies, but because they involve specific scenarios within the game rather than actual hacks or cheats, we have to take care and do a lot of testing with any changes we make to these scenarios because we don’t want to cause any impact to the way the game functions for everyone else. There are some cases where certain spawns occur on certain maps and players design their road network in a very specific way, then provided they can avoid a game over they can attain a point of stasis where the map will generate points for hours and supply/demand can feed itself for hours at a time. However, a lot of the extremely high scores you see on the leaderboards (20k to 200k etc) are technically legitimate even if the game was not designed to accommodate them. There are two issues at play here - some players are in fact hacking the leaderboards and entering in whatever scores they like, which is an issue that we're hoping to address via patch. "Regarding unusually high scores on the leaderboards: They've had two years to do something proactive and nothing has changed.įrom the official pinned "known bugs" thread: Like you, I think the developers just don't care enough to do anything more about it. Right now it seems there is absolutely zero kind of proactive validation of scores posted and only (apparently) daily clearing of the fake scores by a method that the developers won't disclose. Rather, I think if you're going to bother having high score tables in the first place there should at least be *some* kind of proactive effort to keep them clean, however minimal. It may not matter to you, but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter to others. I disagree with the notion that the high score tables aren't important and therefore nobody should care about the cheaters that are almost always in the top spots. I tried it it was super easy I know it works, never bothered to top any leaderboards because again it accomplishes nothing. It's just a single player game, getting a high score on the leaderboard has almost zero effect on anything.
